Link Roll Call

In my ongoing quest to make my friends popular and then coast off their popularity I bring another round of sidebar links to other places on the net.

First up I want to say hello to my pal Andreas, the Morning Coffee Boy. His blog is full of interesting little factoids and cute doodles. He is proudly not always normal and that’s fantastic!

Bringing a double-blog threat is Simian, my homey of homeys and breaker-of-my-spleen on a regular basis. Her now-defunct (for now) blog Real Mechanics Have Pretty Toolboxes tells a lot of funny stories about her work in the automotive industry and what it’s like for a woman. Who can resist thinking about whether or not you’re included in the category of “creeple”? Taking a break from her mechanical adventures she’s finding herself. No girl this funny who went to Auto Diesel College should go unread!

P-Frank, of Becky and P-Frank of adorable comics has three whole sites which he says I will link to if I love him. Dammit Frank. In his latest, you will learn that he is not crazy about kids. I don’t know why. They’re delicious!

My favorite barefoot-in-blue-jeans philosopher and partner-in-thoughtcrime Sas is on to something and you should check it out because he’s erudite and well-spoken. His mind is like a pool. Dive in and see how far you can go before you need to surface for a breath and take stock of your bearings. He’s the guy I go to when I want to talk about the social implications of whatever story device I’m coming up with. That’s like straight up brand loyalty, son!

Because I can’t get enough of it, I’m going to recommend for the umpteenth time the brilliant “Makes Me Remember” story arc at webcomic Aikida. It’s going places and it reminds me of a similar event in my own life. Very strong stuff, and fantastic artwork. He works really hard on it so please to at least give it a peek!

For a webcomic experience based on true life Facebook comments check out Belly Towne at Smilewhores, where Keir comments on his phattitude.

Last but not least in this parade of the stars (in my eyes at least) is a fairly new blog at Happy Dysfunction which informs that “You will find stuff here.” Cleverly, his first post is entitled Number One. He’s recently sent me a story which I hope he’ll post. It’s weird and neat and darkly funny. Darkly.

I’ve got ideas up my sleeve for “the future” which don’t necessarily have to do with my ideas for “the future of Shambles”. More later, for now check out those links!
